Great little vacuum for small spaces!

I got this vacuum on one of those Black Friday deals, and wasn't expecting much, since it was so cheap, & the box was so light. When I opened it, and it went together like a lego toy, I was skeptical. But it's amazing!! It's never going to be your only vacuum if you have a big house (the wheel base is small, so you'd be doing a lot of walking back & forth), but if you have a little apartment, or want to keep a seperate vacuum upstairs, or in different rooms of your house, this vacuum is perfect for that! It's basically a hand-held vac, that has a detachable stick-handle, vacuum/wheel base, and crevice tool. Unlike the cordless hand-vacs, it doesn't lose power after 30 seconds, because it's electric. The crevice tool works great, and it's as light weight as one of those kids' toy vacuums. Also, when I emptied it (you will have to empty it pretty much every time you use it, but what do you expect?) I was shocked at how much dirt was in it- I'd just vacuumed with my expensive... 5/5 stefany9579 (Olympia, WA United States) - See all my reviews This review is from: Dirt Devil Simpli-Stik Lightweight Corded Bagless Stick Vacuum, SD20000RED (Kitchen) I got this vacuum on one of those Black Friday deals, and wasn't expecting much, since it was so cheap, & the box was so light. 0 4/5 Kath&Chloe "KC" (Beverly Hills, CA) - See all my reviews This review is from: Dirt Devil Simpli-Stik Lightweight Corded Bagless Stick Vacuum, SD20000RED (Kitchen) Got this on sale at Target for $10 (Black Friday) and it's a decent little machine. Great for vacuuming my area rug and hardwood floors. I wouldn't expect this machine to clean up a large mess. Very lightweight, easy to maneuver and much quieter than a full size vac. Nice that it also transforms into a hand vac. In one use it picked up a lot of dust and cat hair that wasn't evident. Definitely a keeper! 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , November 27, 2009

Great design, features, and most importantly, suction.

I've read all the reviews and I'm here to clean up those who have trash-talked this dustbuster. I do not work for Black & Decker or Amazon.com. I also do not hold any stock or interest in the aforementioned companies, but I do have an interest in spending my money wisely. So, when other consumers write misinformed, misguided, inaccurate portrayals of a product that is otherwise perfect, I feel the need to scrub their comments until all the residue is gone. Here's what I found:To begin with, no rechargeable hand-held vacuum is designed to last anywhere near an hour without recharging, and no rechargeable item with such a large battery pack will recharge in mere minutes. So, for those who make this claim, they are silly-heads. For the reviews that state it only operates between a few seconds and a few minutes, you obviously have a rare lemon. I'm quite certain B&D would not knowingly produce a 30-second dustbuster. Quit complaining and exchange it.As a... 5/5 Benjamin D. Branford (Dublin, OH) - See all my reviews, November 5, 2011

Not perfect, but for about $50?

I picked this up locally at Target because I wanted to be able to return it just in case it sucked at sucking. After having this for a month now, for about $50, you really can't go wrong with this. We brought our newborn home a month ago and I wanted to have something around to be able to pick up the cat+dog fur tumbleweeds around the house and generally keep it a bit cleaner. Our full size vacuum weighs some 15+lbs and it's just too heavy and cumbersome to bust out for daily quick cleanups.PROS:+ Lightweight and easy to handle; well balanced+ Powerful suction - the Dyson handhelds must be off the charts because this is already pretty strong as it is+ Power toggle stays on+ On-board attachments+ Holds its charge very well - perfect for cleaning around the house and on the stairs - haven't had it lose charge on me mid-cleanup yet and it holds its charge for 2-3 passes for me. Charge time really isn't an issue since I don't plan on... 4/5 Charles Chen "Keyboard Jockey" (East Windsor, NJ) - See all my reviews, April 16, 2011

    Excessive compulsive cleaner's dream

An excessive compulsive clean-freak woman had to have had her hand in designing this vac. On a scale of 1-10 it's an 11! Thank you Black and Decker for coming out with the 1st cordless hand vac with the power of a corded one. It is so darn handy yet gets the job done. Need I say more? Yes, I do. The fact that all I have to do to get into my deep crevices or to use the brush is pull out the tools (instead of hunt for them in my closet) right on the nozzle is absolutely ingenious! Oh and that vented, hard plastic sleeve that goes over the washable filter - well, it's just clever. No more crud sticking to the filter to clog things up. t just slides right off!!!! You people at Black and Decker that designed this one deserve a huge raise! Finally, a GREAT hand vac! I love, love, love it! It's perfect. You thought of EVERYTHING. Well, almost everything. Now if you could just put it on automatic pilot to seek out the dust and crud ... Oh, well, you can't have everything. You get... 5/5 S. Powerful, Noisy, Awkward

I got this vac for cleaning up a small space, just a room, and did not need a whole upright thing.I can say that this unit must have a very powerful motor- when you turn it on, it sounds like a Corvette at 6000 rpm and there does not seem to be anything built into the product to lessen this clamor. The unfortunate thing is that all this power as you would think from the sound(s) that it makes does not seem to translate into a lot of suction power. But the brush is very powerful and distinguishis this product from other "Dustbuster" type hand vacs.As a handheld vaccum, I do find its brush powerful to get things like cookie crumbs and whatnot out of a cheap synthetic carpet but beware, it is really loud. Well, one other good thing is that the bags are easily available.Probably you can find another handheld vac that is quieter but beware that some "Dustbuster" - style vacs do not have a sweeping powerful brush, they just inhale loose debris. Great on Stairs, Awful on Bare Floors

0 3/5 That Girl (Lexington, KY) - See all my reviews This review is from: Dirt Devil Ultra Corded Bagged Handheld Vacuum, M08230RED (Kitchen) I bought this (to replace a dying DustBuster) so I could pick up bits of cat litter on the bathroom floor. I thought it was doing a fine job. But one day, after I'd had it for a week or so, I was cleaning in my bare feet, and felt individual pieces of litter flying at my ankles. The brush/rotator thingie was basically just launching little cat-litter missles onto whatever was behind it--in this case, me, and the carpet in the adjoining room. So much for cleaning!I like the Dirt Devil on (carpeted) stairs a lot, although it is really, really loud (I wear earplugs). It has a very long cord, so one can vacuum the whole staircase without having to unplug/re-plug. But I don't recommend it on bare floors.I guess I'll need to get another DustBuster! 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , June 21, 2005

    This thing sucks

I got this vacuum for thirty bucks so keep that in mind. There are units out there that cost ten times that. So how does the Dynamite Plus stack up? It sucks! Very, very well. I don't think I have ever used a vaccum that had such powerful suction. I bought a Dirt Devil cordless unit (the one that no one seems to like) about a year ago and it was garbage. I wondered if anyone really needed cordless while in the confines of their own home. Most likely not. Why not trade the dubious benefits of cordless for maximum sucking power? For the price there is proably no vacuum made that is more powerful. So why only 4 stars? Despite a vacuum that seems well built, convenient, light, bagless, portable, etc., there is one thing that is insanely ridiculous about the Dynamite Plus' design. All of that powerful suckiing power shoots right out a front grill of the vacuum. Like a tornado!!!! The first time I used it was in the kitchen it it literally blew all of the photos and notes off my... 4/5 PhotoGraphics (Arizona) - See all my reviews, December 6, 2007

    Small and powerful

I was looking for a small, powerful and inexpensive vacuum cleaner, and this is EXACTLY what I got with Dirt Devil Dynamite. I was looking to replace my old stick-type vacuum cleaner which was okay for hardwood, but just too weak to pick up anything from carpet.I already have a fairly large carpet steamer which I regularly use. I didn't want another clunky machine to take up very expensive square footage in my house. I also paid quite a bit for that steamer, so I didn't want to shell out for a vacuum as well. However, I did want a vacuum cleaner with some power to it.1) SMALL: The first thing that caught be by surprise is how remarkably small this vacuum cleaner is. I think the lady in the picture is rather short because the canister part hardly even reaches my kneecaps! Size-wise it almost looks like a child's toy!2) ASSEMBLY: There's virtually no assembly required. This review is from: Dirt Devil Dynamite Plus Bagless Upright Vacuum with Tools, M084650RED (Kitchen) Haven't had the unit long enough to be very critical. The unit is only 7 amps but seems to pick up dirt like a 10 amp, lots of power to work the brush's and suck up the dirt. So far it seems to be a good value for the money.**** CAUTION:Amazon recommended purchasing replacementbelt and filter with the Dynamite vaccum except that they recommended the WRONG belt and filter. Having not purchased the Dynamite before I went with what Amazon recommended which turned out to be the F-12 belt and F-1 Hepa Filter which are incorrect. The Dynamite vaccum uses a F-15 belt and a F-2 Hepa Filter so be very careful to order the correct belt and filter if you decide to order this vaccum...do not rely on Amazon's recommendations or their customer service. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , June 23, 2011

    works fine after a year

0 4/5 R. Wys "R. Wys" (MN, USA) - See all my reviews This review is from: Dirt Devil Featherlite Bagged Upright Vacuum, M085590RED (Kitchen) I was suprised to see that some of the other reviews portray this vacuum as useless. I bought mine from Target a year ago and it works wonderfully. Only complaints is that it's still pretty 'clunky' to carry around and that when you want to use the attachments it's hard to get the hose out. I've gone through a Shark brand vacuum that broke after 2 uses and an Orek XL that ate it's own cord but couldn't pick up Cheerios that my daughter spilled. I've had bad luck with vacuums but this one is doing just fine after 200+ uses.Feb. 2013: I just upgraded to a Bissel Trilogy Pet but my Dirt Devil still works wonderfully! Do not buy the canister version of this vacuum though! I've never had to replace the belt on it yet and I did replace the hose two months ago because my husband broke it where it attached to the base but it was a cheap fix. I still say this product is worth purchasing. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , December 19, 2008

Can suck the chrome off a trailer hitch but breaks

UPDATE After about 5 Months the part of the hose that connects to the motor ( see my pic) has had a piece break off that locks on the little peg; and now the end of the hose has a vertical crack in it where the attachments would connect. My concern all along after assembling this was the durability factor.I have a rainbow canister that I have decided to retire do the intensive assembly required for its operation. You have to fill the tank with water then place it it's caddy, place the motor on top of tank and then attach the hose from the power head to the motor. Then do the reverse to empty the water from the tank. So I decided to get an upright that you can just plug in and go.I'm not sold yet on the bag less uprights so I decided to go with the old tried and true one's with a bag. I first looked at the Eureka Upright Vacuum Cleaner 1934A, had an impressive review but no attachments and only a 5 amp motor and a little more than I wanted to spend... 1/5 Gerald Balmes "Jerry B" (Washington) - See all my reviews, October 6, 2009

loved it initially. now...not so much

i thought this was going to be the perfect solution for the daily dust that accumulates on my hardwood floors. initially, i was impressed. the swiffer seemed to pick up a lot of the dust. however, i was bothered by the plastic "vacuum" part, as it sometimes can scratch the floor if you're not careful. as another member wrote, it would have helpful if they would have put some rubber or something over the plastic vacuum part.as the months passed, i found that the vacuum didn't seem to pick up as much as it used to. i do clean the filter regularly (which is a dusty mess each time you do it), so i don't know what's going on. frankly, the vacuum just isn't strong enough for what i need it to do anymore. i've reverted back to my regular "super-strength" vacuum to get the job done.pros:* lightweight* easy to use* works great for very light jobs* small and easy to storecons:* vacuum not as strong... 2/5 E. Dust Buster 14.4

I've had 2 Dust Busters for over 20 years. One in my kitchen and one in the bar down stairs. 20 years old and they worked fine. I got used to them running down for 20 seconds and then moving up to speed. Always liked the product. Then about a week ago I visited my daughter and she had a new one. The Dust Buster 14.4 with Cyclonic Action. Wow...it seriously sucked! Could not wait to order one from my friend Amazon. (I love this site) (and no, I don't work for them)! Ordered one and WOW, what a great product. I followed the instructions and charged it up for 24 hours then I used it until the battery died then charged it up again. I love this thing! Its extremely powerful, the long crevice tool has a brush on the end AND it extends about a foot longer if you want. First of all I went and cleaned the ceiling fan in our bedroom. Worked awesome without dragging out the big Vac. Great product and empty's easily. I'm buying another one for my boat where we are always leaving crumbs from toast... 5/5 Ramon V. Works well, but the Lithium-Ion version of this Dustbuster is better

I borrowed this Dustbuster in order to compare it to the that I recently purchased, which is the exact same except for the type of battery it uses. This Dustbuster uses a Nickel-cadmium (NiCad) battery, compared to a Lithium Ion (LIB) battery in the other version. I put them through the same testing and evaluated them on how well the products work as a handheld vacuum, and then how the two compared to each other. As vacuums, they both performed surprisingly well compared to handheld vacs from 5+ years ago, which I have always hated due to poor battery life and weak suction power. The main problem with older vacs, is that they suffer from "memory effect," which causes products that use NiCad batteries to lose power and charge over time. This is very prevalent with Dustbusters,... 4/5 Scott - See all my reviews, April 20, 2012

    Greatest Little Vac

0 5/5 Bbt (Charlotte, N.C. United States) - See all my reviews This review is from: Dirt Devil Scorpion Quick Flip Corded Bagless Handheld Vacuum, SD20005RED (Kitchen) This product is superior by design. I am not a real fan of some of the Dirt Devil products but they really got this one down pat. The vacuum is superior to any other that I have ever had in this category. The nose in the front that flips down gets into all those tuff places in your car seats. The filter is easy to clean and there are replacements available. I do like the very long cord that comes with this vac. Some others have a little cord that really is a sorry way to do things. The attachments work well for different applications. A great little vacuum is all I can say! 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , April 4, 2010

    Flawed, but a worthy purchase

0 3/5 Shauna G (Here, There, and Everywhere) - See all my reviews This review is from: Dirt Devil Scorpion Quick Flip Corded Bagless Handheld Vacuum, SD20005RED (Kitchen) I've owned this handy little vacuum for a little more than a year now. While convenient for quick jobs, it isn't perfect either. However, at this price, I'm glad I bought it. I haven't had to use all of the attachments, I usually just stick with the basic vacuum, and rarely add the hose. I don't use it as often as my regular upright vacuum, a Dyson, but for quick jobs, it's much more convenient to bring out the Dirt Devil.Pros:-Power cord long enough for indoor jobs-easy to empty the cup that holds the dirt-the crevice tool is very useful, especially for furniture-the crevice tool folds out and clicks right into the vacuum, which I loveCons-ridiculously loud!-there is no convenient way to wrap the cord without it coming unraveled-it would be nice if the vacuum fit into the accessory bag; it's just barely too big for it-cannot be used for extended periods, or else a burnt smell will permeate throughout the room 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , January 23, 2011

    Great Product!

I purchased this product to help with the daily cleanup of pet hair on my tile floors. I researched several similar vacuums, but this one seemed to have all that I needed. The price was right, online reviews were good, and it meet all my criteria - cordless, upright and rechargeable. The product was easy to assemble. Handle is easy to attach and remove, filter is easy to empty and clean, and the vacuum attaches to the charger easily. The instructions said to charge for 14-16 hours before first use. It had charged about 20 hours before I first used it. It worked for about 5 minutes and then quit. I decided to let it charge longer. I kept it on the charger for 48 hours (just to be sure it was fully charged). I started it up again and WOW! It worked like a charm. The vacuum quickly cleaned up dirt & crumbs along with all the dust bunnies of hair from my multiple pets. It was easy to maneuver around the floor, chairs, and sofa. My tile area is rather large and I was... 5/5 Andrew Minarcik (Atlanta, GA United States) - See all my reviews This review is from: Eureka Quick-up Cordless 2-in-1 Stick Vacuum, 96H (Kitchen) I purchased this product to help with the daily cleanup of pet hair on my tile floors. Here's the nitty gritty!

I have a love/hate relationship with this vacuum cleaner. There are great things about it, and horrible things about it. I will break them both down for you but first I will tell you a little about my home. It is about 2300Sq ft. It has 3 most common floor times. Hardwood, tile, and plush carpet. I bought this vacuum for my new home because it was appealing on many levels. It was small, lightweight and cordless. The Pros: This vacuum is small, lightweight, and cordless. It is easy to assemble and virtually goes anywhere! It's a lot quieter than a traditional vacuum cleaner. Heck it's so small and compact even my toddler enjoys using it (Woohoo!). It is also pretty easy to empty! The Cons: The battery life only allows me to vacuum about 2-3 rooms at a time on a full charge, and about 1 room on a partial charge. The suction isn't the greatest, and you can FORGET picking up anything that isn't dust or hair. It has trouble vacuuming up anything dime sized or bigger... 3/5 Jennifer - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) It is just what I wanted...

0 5/5 Wayne, New Jersey resident - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Eureka Quick-up Cordless 2-in-1 Stick Vacuum, 96H (Kitchen) I searched all local stores and the internet for a cordless, lightweight floor sweeper. I only found this product to have what I wanted for a reasonable cost. When I received the product I was happy when I noticed it could also be used on carpet. It works very well for the in-between carpet vacuuming and works great on bare floors. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , May 11, 2011

Great Product - Confusing Product Information

When trying to decide if this model (3670G) was the right vacuum for me, I found a considerable amount of confusing information regarding it's features on the internet..and from the manufacturer itself. First of all, many online retailers flat out state (inaccurately) that this model has a "HEPA" (High Efficiency Particulate Air) filter and at least one of the reviews for it here on Amazon (at least as of this writing) seems to indicate that it has one as well. I can tell you outright that having checked with the manufacturer directly and now owning one myself that it does *NOT* have a "HEPA" filter. More on that a little later in this review however.I found another confusing aspect of the description is in the model number (i.e. 3670G). Be careful to understand the difference between what Amazon calls the 3670 (also called the 3670A in some places) and the 3670*G* models. They look identical and appear to be identical (both are yellow and black) however the 3670 only has... 4/5 Aficianado, "Music, Film and Book Lover" (Washington, DC) - See all my reviews When trying to decide if this model (3670G) was the right vacuum for me, I found a considerable amount of confusing information regarding it's features on the internet..and from the manufacturer itself. THE BOSS WILL PUT YOU TO WORK!!!

After reading many reviews myself, I opted for the EUREKA BOSS. I was not sure of the difference between this model and the EUREKA MIGHTY MITE...I figured the BOSS had 12amps and could potentially supply more suction power.I think the vacuum works well on bare floors, I cleaned my lovely hardwoods with no problems..and it did wonders on the bathroom and kitchen floors aswell. However, I find that this little vacuum really puts you to work when it comes to cleaning carpet. I must have vacuumed the same spot on my area rug 10 times before I was content with the results. The same thing went for my low pile carpeting in the basement, after multiple passes, it finally got the job done. It comes with one attachment for both hard floors and carpeting, a brush tool for upholstery and a crevace tool. It's compact enough for easy storage, however, it doesn't come with a retractable cord. I like the fact that it's equiped with a HEPA filter, and I don't mind bagged... 3/5 Sorgalim (Union, NJ) - See all my reviews After reading many reviews myself, I opted for the EUREKA BOSS.
