    Small and powerful

I was looking for a small, powerful and inexpensive vacuum cleaner, and this is EXACTLY what I got with Dirt Devil Dynamite. I was looking to replace my old stick-type vacuum cleaner which was okay for hardwood, but just too weak to pick up anything from carpet.I already have a fairly large carpet steamer which I regularly use. I didn't want another clunky machine to take up very expensive square footage in my house. I also paid quite a bit for that steamer, so I didn't want to shell out for a vacuum as well. However, I did want a vacuum cleaner with some power to it.1) SMALL: The first thing that caught be by surprise is how remarkably small this vacuum cleaner is. I think the lady in the picture is rather short because the canister part hardly even reaches my kneecaps! Size-wise it almost looks like a child's toy!2) ASSEMBLY: There's virtually no assembly required. Just snap in the handle and it's good to go.3) POWERFUL: It picked up... 5/5 Ena (Chicago, USA) - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This thing sucks

I got this vacuum for thirty bucks so keep that in mind. There are units out there that cost ten times that. So how does the Dynamite Plus stack up? It sucks! Very, very well. I don't think I have ever used a vaccum that had such powerful suction. I bought a Dirt Devil cordless unit (the one that no one seems to like) about a year ago and it was garbage. I wondered if anyone really needed cordless while in the confines of their own home. Most likely not. Why not trade the dubious benefits of cordless for maximum sucking power? For the price there is proably no vacuum made that is more powerful. So why only 4 stars? Despite a vacuum that seems well built, convenient, light, bagless, portable, etc., there is one thing that is insanely ridiculous about the Dynamite Plus' design. All of that powerful suckiing power shoots right out a front grill of the vacuum. Like a tornado!!!! The first time I used it was in the kitchen it it literally blew all of the photos and notes off my... 4/5 PhotoGraphics (Southwest U.S.) - See all my reviews, December 6, 2007

This review is from: Dirt Devil Dynamite Plus Bagless Upright Vacuum with Tools, M084650RED (Kitchen) You really can't beat the price for the quality and ability of this little vacuum cleaner. But beware, it is little, best for smaller spaces or an apartment. The suction and hose attachment function well. It's very portable and easy to remove the canister. Although getting all the debris out of it takes a good amount of shaking. All in all a nice option if you don't have a lot of square footage and want a light, little cleaner. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , July 27, 2010

Great design, features, and most importantly, suction.

I've read all the reviews and I'm here to clean up those who have trash-talked this dustbuster. I do not work for Black & Decker or Amazon.com. I also do not hold any stock or interest in the aforementioned companies, but I do have an interest in spending my money wisely. So, when other consumers write misinformed, misguided, inaccurate portrayals of a product that is otherwise perfect, I feel the need to scrub their comments until all the residue is gone. Here's what I found:To begin with, no rechargeable hand-held vacuum is designed to last anywhere near an hour without recharging, and no rechargeable item with such a large battery pack will recharge in mere minutes. So, for those who make this claim, they are silly-heads. For the reviews that state it only operates between a few seconds and a few minutes, you obviously have a rare lemon. I'm quite certain B&D would not knowingly produce a 30-second dustbuster. Quit complaining and exchange it.As a... 5/5 Benjamin D. Branford (Dublin, OH) - See all my reviews, November 5, 2011

Not perfect, but for about $50?

I picked this up locally at Target because I wanted to be able to return it just in case it sucked at sucking. After having this for a month now, for about $50, you really can't go wrong with this. We brought our newborn home a month ago and I wanted to have something around to be able to pick up the cat+dog fur tumbleweeds around the house and generally keep it a bit cleaner. Our full size vacuum weighs some 15+lbs and it's just too heavy and cumbersome to bust out for daily quick cleanups.PROS:+ Lightweight and easy to handle; well balanced+ Powerful suction - the Dyson handhelds must be off the charts because this is already pretty strong as it is+ Power toggle stays on+ On-board attachments+ Holds its charge very well - perfect for cleaning around the house and on the stairs - haven't had it lose charge on me mid-cleanup yet and it holds its charge for 2-3 passes for me. Charge time really isn't an issue since I don't plan on... 4/5 Charles Chen "Keyboard Jockey" (East Windsor, NJ) - See all my reviews, April 16, 2011

    Excessive compulsive cleaner's dream

An excessive compulsive clean-freak woman had to have had her hand in designing this vac. On a scale of 1-10 it's an 11! Thank you Black and Decker for coming out with the 1st cordless hand vac with the power of a corded one. It is so darn handy yet gets the job done. Need I say more? Yes, I do. The fact that all I have to do to get into my deep crevices or to use the brush is pull out the tools (instead of hunt for them in my closet) right on the nozzle is absolutely ingenious! Oh and that vented, hard plastic sleeve that goes over the washable filter - well, it's just clever. No more crud sticking to the filter to clog things up. t just slides right off!!!! You people at Black and Decker that designed this one deserve a huge raise! Finally, a GREAT hand vac! I love, love, love it! It's perfect. You thought of EVERYTHING. Well, almost everything. Shockingly light!

0 5/5 eV - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Dirt Devil Featherlite Cyclonic Bagless Canister Vacuum, SD40100 (Kitchen) I bought this vacuum cleaner as I had previously had a simmilar model in Germany. I was shocked by how light it is and was not confident in how well it would clean, but it does surprisingly well and after a few days' use, I trust it to last.It sucks well, has small but effective wheels on the sides of the hose at the head which ensure it won't scratch hard flooring and the rubber-ish surface on the two big wheels mean that it moves reliably over my varnished hardwood floor without marking. The little independently rotating wheel underneath, which enables it to move freely in all directions, broke off from my original model in Germany - that does not appear to be any more sturdy on this version, but I'll add a comment later if it happens.Overall, this vacuum cleaner is light and effective, moves well across my hard flooring without marking, and appears to be equally good at cleaning my rugs! 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , February 11, 2012

This review is from: Dirt Devil Featherlite Cyclonic Bagless Canister Vacuum, SD40100 (Kitchen) I researched a lot and ended up buying this one. I have a fully carpeted floor but I did not want to buy the regular huge upright vaccum cleaner that is difficult to maintain, is noisy and is heavy. I am impressed by how compact this one is, and it fits my needs perfectly. At one press, the wire retracts. The height adjuster adds to convenience. The price is right and it cleans perfectly. Works very well but does *not* feel secure on the wall mount

This is a very nice little vacuum. I keep it in my garage, near the entrance from the kitchen, and use it for small jobs like cleaning the kids' crumbs off the car seats and floors, sucking up bugs and spiderwebs from the garage wall, cleaning food crumbs from crevices in the kitchen, and removing dust and crumbs from my computer keyboards and monitors. It has a small retractable brush that is very useful for car cleaning, and a plastic nozzle that can flip forwards to extend the reach, which is good for cleaning things high up and sucking up bugs.Apparently this device has a smart charger which does not simply keep the battery at full charge all the time but optimizes the recharging to extend the battery life. I have certainly not noticed any deterioration in the battery in the several months I have owned this vacuum.Opening the device to empty out the dirt is easy. Most of the dirt just drops out into the garbage. I like to use my central vac nozzle to... 3/5 PAUL BRADSHAW (CT, USA) - See all my reviews, April 1, 2011

    This Is A Mighty Wonder

I have owned this rechargeable handvac for almost a year now. It was purchased to keep the car and its upholstery clean, but I also use it around the house quite frequently to get into the small places around the cabinets and baseboards. I've even used it to clean the keyboards on my desktop and laptops. It provides a lot of suction and does a great job picking up everything from coffee grounds, cookie crumbs, and dust balls. I have never exhausted the charge completely so I can't comment on maximum battery life, but I can guesstimate that I have used it for 15 to 20 minutes without it pooping out. As for charging, it has one of those smart batteries that charge intermitently when the power is draining from the battery when it is in its stand. Consequently when I use it I always start out with a fully charged battery. The AccuCharge Vac comes with a mounting rac/charger. My husband used heavy duty screws because he thought the ones that came with it looked flimsy. loved it initially. now...not so much

i thought this was going to be the perfect solution for the daily dust that accumulates on my hardwood floors. initially, i was impressed. the swiffer seemed to pick up a lot of the dust. however, i was bothered by the plastic "vacuum" part, as it sometimes can scratch the floor if you're not careful. as another member wrote, it would have helpful if they would have put some rubber or something over the plastic vacuum part.as the months passed, i found that the vacuum didn't seem to pick up as much as it used to. i do clean the filter regularly (which is a dusty mess each time you do it), so i don't know what's going on. frankly, the vacuum just isn't strong enough for what i need it to do anymore. i've reverted back to my regular "super-strength" vacuum to get the job done.pros:* lightweight* easy to use* works great for very light jobs* small and easy to storecons:* vacuum not as strong... 2/5 E. I would give it zero stars if I could - Useless piece of junk-BUYER BEWARE !

The concept of the Swiffer Sweeper Vac is excellent, but I found this vac to be very disappointing. I followed the directions to a T and still having serious battery issues. The Vac does not hold a charge and runs out of power way too soon. Even when it held a charge longer, it never really had much suction and is only good for picking up lightweight dust, pet hair, small particles. It worked better the first month or so I had it but swiftly declined (pun intended!) Why make this item cordless to begin with? I would love it if it simply had a long cord which I could just plug in to use. Must have been designed by some high-paid CEO who has a maid and never has to use one and has some false notion that cordless is better than plug in. If you are fortunate to have one which actually works correctly, a word of caution, be careful because the hard plastic hood which is the part that has the suction, will scratch your hardwood floor. Smaller than expected, but a good cleaner.

Despite shipping hiccups and a few cracks in the plastic which were easily repaired with a bit of duct tape, the vacuum is a great little sucker. I have a 2 bed, 2 bath apt. with 2 cats and a large dog, so I have to empty the container a couple times each room. This would be a lot better for an apartment without pets, but in the end it works really well and cleans great, so it doesn't really bother me to empty it often. The suction is pretty amazing, my roommates GF has the original DD Breeze (12 amp, non cyclonic) and this really does a better job, pushes easier, and cleans up more dirt even while only having a 10 amp motor. The tools are simple but work fine as well and the hose connects simply and sturdily. All in all its a great cheap vacuum, I would spend a bit more if I could do it over again and get a heavier duty and larger dirt container vacuum instead. That all said, if you are debating between the ~$50 vacuums, this is probably the one to get as its the latest... 2/5 Jake Smith (Phoenix, AZ) - See all my reviews, August 31, 2012

I have tried other Dirt Devil upright vacuum cleaners with mixed success. Dirt Devils offer a nice combination of power and value, but I have had issues with quality. The Dirt Devil Breeze seems to follow that pattern. It was easy to assemble and offer plenty of power, but I am afraid that the canister will have issues snapping (and staying) in place.Notes- - The vacuum is lightweight and can be easily lifted with one hand - Limited number of attachments - Actually, it only has one 1 attachment - the attachment for the stairs - Bagless system - all of the debris is trapped in the canister, so the Dirt Devil Breeze does not use a bag. While it does not have bag it does have a washable and reusable filter. - Assembly is simple - it requires a philips head screw driver and about 5 minutes... 4/5 CKE (USA) - See all my reviews, December 8, 2012

    Good for the price

Can't compare this to my old "bag" Electrolux vacuum because it is not heavy duty. But the old vacuum had died and it was getting hard to find bags for it so, I decided to go bagless. For the price this vacuum is good and has good suction action. It is so light, I was afraid to assemble it, because I thought pushing the parts together would crack them. It is VERY light plastic. But, easy to assemble and nothing broke -- so far, anyway. Picks up dirt very well. The only issue is, it is EXTREMELY hard to empty. I think if a person did not have pets, it would be perfect, however since I have quite a few cats and dogs, the hair it picks up gets stuck in the top of the clean-out chamber and requires that I pull out the whole "guts" of the device to get the packed-in hair out. Quite a mess and gets dirt all over the place. So found that it's best to do this outside. Can't simply, "open the bin and dump the picked up dirt in the trash" as the pretty instruction... 3/5 Joyce Anne Laird "writer" (Los Angeles, CA) - See all my reviews, January 14, 2013
